Product Support Specialist

Job Description

Jofran has offices in China, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, and Indonesia as well as distribution facilities in California, South Carolina and Vietnam. The Product Support Specialist will be based out of our Norfolk, MA office and will report directly to our Product Manager. The Product Support Specialist must be detail oriented, resourceful, positive, organized, and have the ability to multi-task. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate professionally and clearly and will also have strong computer and verbal skills.

*FURNITURE EXPERIENCE IS A MUST*

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Inspect/review first shipment of new merchandise as they arrive to the warehouse and release for customer order shipment, or hold for quality issues as needed.
  • Inspect/review product samples to ensure quality (construction, function, packaging, etc) at both Norfolk warehouse and High Point, NC showroom
  • Attend trade show set up twice a year to assist with trade show set up, and product inspection/repair as needed.
  • Investigate product quality issues as they arise (construction, color, packing, etc)
  • Track RFC (Request for Credit) for early detection of product issues. Review and approve RFCs for best outcome (credit, repair with parts, etc). Correspond with sales reps and customers on same.
  • Work with international teams and factories to resolve product and/or packing issues.
  • Work with internal teams, sales reps, and customers on epidemic issues as needed.
  • Work with factories to review and approve carton markings, assembly instructions, and parts list.
  • Work with Parts department to ensure parts lists is complete and on any parts related quality issues (color match, correct parts sent, etc).
  • Work with Compliance Team as needed on any product relate issues (new Federal or State standards).
  • Be the central hub of product knowledge for all internal departments: Parts, Customer Service, Claims, Logistics, Ecommerce, and international teams.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Expertise with MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
  • High level of problem solving ability including independent judgment and decision making skills
  • Experience in the furniture industry is a plus

Languages

  • Excellent knowledge of English (oral and written), Spanish and French are a plus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • Associates degree; preferred

Education

  • Two plus years Furniture Retail or Wholesale, or Import/Distribution related field preferred.

Entry Level Supply Chain Analyst/Assistant

The Assistant Supply Chain Analyst will be based out of our Norfolk, MA office and will report directly to our Supply Chain Manager. The Assistant Supply Chain Analyst must be detail oriented, resourceful, positive, organized, and ahve the ability to multi-task. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate professionally and clearly and will also have strong computer and verbal skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist the Supply Chain Manager in daily operations.
  • Prepare purchase orders, and follow up with vendors
  • Examine documents and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications
  • Maintain all quoted documentation with accurate pricing and configurations.
  • Provide administrative support; i.e. (emails, assist with purchase orders as required).
  • Use the company system to perform purchase order related inquiries.
  • Ability to update and maintain computer database related to supply chain operations
  • Perform general office work: copying, filing, sorting, answering emails, faxing and etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Expertise with MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, organizational and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management.
  • High level of problem solving ability including independent judgment and decision making skills.

Languages

  • Excellent knowledge of English; both oral and written skills.
